A big thanks to Harry Jarvis for helping us with our website!
Harry, we salute you!
We are busy getting ready for our upcoming open studio.
Sarah still has two black eyes from last Friday's eye surgery.
She'll be propped up with some shades, this weekend (we wouldn't want to scare the kiddies!).

Another wild and crazy Open Studio has come and gone.
We saw lots of old friends, and made some new ones.
We enjoyed sharing our artwork with all the wonderful people who visited us.
It was also great to have the opportunity to take in all the incredible work by the other artists, and crafters who were exhibiting there.
We were treated to some wonderful singing by Jeri Castimore's friend "Tony", who seranaded the 4th floor with his swinging charm.
Hats off to Cristine Santos, Denise Driscoll, and all the other people who worked so hard to put this weekend together!

Yippee! I think I figured out how to update our website!
We look forward to our upcoming open studio on October 22nd, and 23rd(check the Holliston Mill website for details).
It's been an eventful year and a half since we last updated this.
I think my work has grown and improved since we started this website, I'll work on getting more recent pictures up.
In January 2006 I'll be having orbital decompression surgery on my eyes.
I've been wrestling with Graves Disease (an auto immune disease) since about 2000, most of it is managed, but the eye thing is ongoing.
I'm scared of course, but hopefully once I'm through this I'll be relieved of some of the problems and back to my old self.
I've had four lid surgeries, and it's just not fixing the problem. I'm staying positive, but I know I'm looking at a long road.

Well, we survived another one! Thanks again to Harry Jarvis for helping with all the website stuff!
It seemed to go by quickly this year! IT was great to see everyone who came to visit us. Whether it's looking at the artwork, chatting about our pets, and gardens or just exchanging recipes, it's always fun meeting all the people who attend open studios.
Bravo to the artists of the Holliston Mill who took over the planning, and running of this event. Not bad guys, not bad at all!
Meanwhile Laura has taken up learning how to play the fiddle, COOL!

Sarah’s entry; I’m presently recovering from two operations, one in January, the second one in February. As you may or may not know, I’ve been battling Graves’s disease and Graves Eye Disease for some time now. They removed four bony walls from my eye orbit to make room for my eyes to move back into my head better. I was fortunate to have the best medical care available. Though it has been difficult, I am happy with the results. My biggest challenge now is dealing with double vision which will be corrected with surgery in six months. I have just ordered some prism glasses to help with the double vision until then (I refer to them as my “magic glasses”).
I am continuing to try to paint, and participate in Art shows as much as I can. With the support of my family (I have the best husband, and three children in the world!), and friends and neighbors, I’m getting through this. I haven’t been able to drive for almost three months, and it’s been a godsend to have the help that I have had. So please come to the shows we have announced, and support us!

Sarah: Well, I am not having the surgery yet. My eyes haven’t been stable, so it’s waiting and seeing when it can be done. I am finally driving again due to the prism glasses (it took months for my brain to adapt to them!). Somehow I manage to keep painting, and have even won a first place for a watercolor that I did shortly after my surgery (hmmmm wonder what that means!). I worked on some projects to honor my mothers 80th birthday, and have been doing a series of paintings of her gardens. I also have been spending time in New Hampshire observing woodland plants for a series for the Audubon show in December.
My gardens aren’t up to par this year due to all the rain, and now extreme heat. We do have some amazing butterflies this year. They dance outside my kitchen window visiting all my flowers. So I’m letting go of frustration over what isn’t working, and trying to embrace what beauty that there is.
